JONATHAN KENT ADAMS
Born 1990 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Jonathan Kent Adams is seeking to explore the ways we create and curate identities. He examines his own experience of Christianity and living openly as a gay man. His work involves the process of covering over and exposing the layers of information we use to feel our existence is true. Along the way, he hopes to discover a glimpse of the human desire to belong among abstract structures that deny your existence.
Jonathan received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting in 2014 from the University of Mississippi. He studied under Mary Beth McKenzie at the Art Student's League of New York in 2012. He currently resides and makes work in Oxford, Mississippi.
